96 removal of one melanoma lesion on torso.
Summer 08 lymph node in neck - several GPs asked but were unworried.
oct nov 08 two melanomas on skin (back) - biopsy of one - misdiagnosed as begnin by dermatologist (!)
jan 09 biopsy of lymphnode and second skin lesion + scans reveal stage IV MM (lungs, bones, flesh and muscles)
DTIC 3 months to apr 09 - mixed response
fotemustin 2 months to june 09 - new lesions incuding liver
cisplatin 3 months to sept 09 - substantial regression
cisplatin 2 months - small progression to mediastinal lymph nodes (jan 10). heart met discovered. Sorafenib envisaged.
Sorafenib for 12 days. Strong allergy (skin redness and rash all over body). Sorafenib has to be stopped. Waiting for next treatment
interferon since March 2010. Seems to keep things stable.
Jan 2011 scans show progression in bowel mets and lymph nodes.
Switch to IPI planned in Feb 11.
IPI 1 well tolerated
