Dear Friends,
Last Wednesday I had my first dose of IPI. At the same day I also received a dose of Zometa for the tumors in my bones.

The good news is that I did not encounter any of the severe side effects. Nothing much besides A little diarrhea.

Due to my high tomor burden I am not in very good shape at the moment but still trying to go for a short walk every day.

Ginger, thanks for the advice with V-8 juice. Thanks to all the others for their advice!

lab results from last week were not looking too good with an LDH close to 2000. had some blood drawn today hoping that the situation is already improving. I know, however, that waiting for IPI to kick in can take quite some patience.

so please keep your fingers crossed for me!

all the best,
Chris

You're welcome, best of luck to ya, i did my last infusion of Yervoy last wed and so far no side effects..

Chris, I'll be hoping and praying all goes well for you. I'm stage IIIC, BRAF pos., with no known primary.  I received my 2nd dose of Yervoy last Friday.  Hang in there!

Fingers crossed for ipi!  My husband's side effects were worse in between the third and the fourth infusion, but manageable.  The skin rash bothered him the most and he was prescribed a steroid cream and anti-histamine (Reactine worked the best).  His tumour load was heavy as well, except he didn't have any bone mets like you.  Positive vibes, keep us appraised.

I've been thinking about you frequently Chris.  So happy to hear you've had your first Ipi infusion.  Hang in there.  Many prayers coming your way.

Good luck Chris! Hope the Ipi starts kicking in soon..

(How long did you have between BRAF "fail" and the start of Ipi?)

I don't know exactly when the BRAF fail happened but it took me  about 3weeks from the staging with the conclusion that there is progression to the first dose.

Good luck to you Chris. The one time I had zometa I had diarrea and other things so that could be it. I've been fine with the xgeva though. Hang in there.
