Does living with melanoma ever get easier. Some of they stories I see here Make mine seem like nothing. But I find my self getting more confussed

every day. And at every Dr visit I'm petrified that the other shoe is gonna drop.  How does one keep it together??

i'm the same way, but i'm not sure if i'm scared of dying from melanoma or scared of dying. . it wasn't until this diagnosis i ever really thought about my own mortality

Time does make it easier. Talking with other melanoma survivors (several of us stage IVers) has helped tremendously.

Doctors' visits are always a source of stress since they force you to focus on that which you work so hard to forget. I began this journey in 1989 as a stage I and thought about all the same concerns until time made me forget. When I was diagnosed as stage IV in 2005, I was retraumatized all over.

It's taken a combination of faith in God, counseling sessions, sharing with fellow survivors, etc to get my bearings again, but I did get them.

Of course, there are worrisome days but that will happen.

Good luck! Best to you!

*Looks like you're in Ohio....? We have a melanoma survivor's group at The James / OSU in Columbus the third Wed of every month 6:30-8:00 pm. Please feel free to join us if possible!
