In partnership with the Susan Fazio Foundation, the Melanoma Research Foundation will host its inaugural Wings of Hope for Melanoma Gala in Philadelphia on Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 6-10pm at the National Constitution Center.
Lynn Schuchter, MD, C. Willard Robinson Professor of Hematology-Oncology and Chief, Hematology Oncology, at the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine's Melanoma Program, will be honored with the MRF's Humanitarian Award. Recognized as one of America's best doctors, Dr. Schuchter is beloved by patients and colleagues for her dedication, leadership, and scientific expertise. The MRF will present GSK with the Vision of Hope Award for the company's dedication to advancing innovative melanoma research and effective treatment options. Julius Rauch, III, Joe Matera and Stephen Rappoport will receive the MRF's Courage Award, for their tremendous strength in their battles with melanoma. Joe's wife, Laura, will be accepting the award on Joe's behalf. 6ABC's Brian Taff will serve as the event emcee.
