Join us for our inaugural 5K event benefiting the Melanoma Research Foundation. The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is the largest independent, national organization devoted to melanoma in the United States. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients and physicians about prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of melanoma.
This event will feature a 5K run/walk at 8:00 a.m. followed by a kids' fun run at 9:15 a.m. On-site registration begins at 7:00 a.m.
Awards will be given to the first sixteen 5K finishers in memory of Denny Neely.
As he lay in his hospice bed, seeing in all our faces that he was near the end, Denny Neely challenged everyone in the room to a fifty mile race. The first sixteen individuals to finish the Denny's Challenge 5K together will have totaled 51.2 miles -- fulfilling the last goal of a fighting man. So call your shot, dig deep and run, walk or contribute towards Denny's fifty mile goal in his memory and to raise money to one day find a cure for melanoma.
We are looking for volunteers as well as runners! If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering for this event, please contact us at dennyschallenge@gmail.com
