The success of the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) depends on the generosity of people like you who participate in fundraising events across the country. These events finance new research initiatives, as well as support the MRF’s programs to provide information and support to patients and their caregivers. Events are also a great tool to raise awareness about melanoma in your local community.
We invite you to join in the fight, either by becoming a part of an ongoing event or by creating your own event in your community.
Participate in an Event
Maybe you want to do something special in memory or honor of someone important to you. Or maybe you simply want to help out a good cause. Whatever your motivation, if you are interested in participating in a fundraising effort, then the MRF has an opportunity for you.
Create Your Own Event
Why should you create your own event? Creating your own event, whether on your own or with a group of your friends, is a great way to take a personal stand in the fight against melanoma. Others have chosen to use events to:
- Tell the community about their fight against melanoma
- Remember someone who has lost their battle
- Raise awareness of the importance of sun safety
- Encourage others to pay attention to their body and deal with unusual moles or spots
- Push state level legislation that will help in the struggle
Whatever your motivation, we can help you organize a traditional run/walk or golf tournament, or to put together something completely creative and new. Regardless, we can help you make your event a success.
We also have a system through FirstGiving you can use to create a unique Web page for your event. Through FirstGiving, you can promote the event, register participants, and even take donations online.
