Miles for Melanoma 5k Run/Walk on the Universal Studios Backlot

In early 2012, the MRF embarked on a wonderful relationship with Universal Studios to host a 5k run/walk on the Universal Studios Backlot in Hollywood, California.

Since 2012, this family friendly event has raised nearly $800,000 for melanoma research, education and advocacy!

Participants in the 5k Run/Walk on the Universal Studios Backlot will experience many of the iconic motion picture scenes that populate the Universal Studios Backlot including Jaws, Back to the Future, Charlie’s Angels, Bruce Almighty, Spiderman 2, the War of the Worlds plane crash and the village of Whoville, just to name a few.

Each year, thousands of melanoma survivors, advocates, caregivers, celebrities and running enthusiasts join the MRF for this exciting event! Past celebrity supporters include: Judd Apatow, Sean Astin, Jason Bateman, Jason Biggs, Vin Diesel, Soleil Moon Frye, Jason George, Tyrese Gibson, Ashley Hinshaw, Rob Lowe, Jeannie Mai, Kellie Martin, Leslie Mann, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Fred Savage and Molly Simms, and more!

Registration for the 5th Annual Miles for Melanoma 5k Run/Walk on the Universal Studios Backlot will open in late 2015.

This year’s event is sponsored by AmgenNovartis, and Bella Skin Institute.
