Miles for Melanoma 5k Run/Walk on the Universal Studios Backlot

In early 2012, the MRF embarked on a wonderful relationship with Universal Studiosto host a 5k run/walk on the Universal Studios backlot in Hollywood, California.

Participants of this inaugural event had the opportunity to see iconic movie sights, like the re-creation of Amityville Island from Jaws, Bates Motel, and the village of Whoville, while also raising money for melanoma research. While on site at the impressive Universal backlot, runners and walkers learned critical tips on how to face the sun safely.  The inaugural event was so successful, Pale Girl SPEAKS, Universal and the MRF partnered again in 2013 for the second annual 5k!

Since 2012, we have raised nearly $800,00 for melanoma education, prevention and early detection!
