Ask the MRF Nurse Program
The Melanoma Research Foundation’s Ask the MRF Nurse Program provides free, personalized answers to melanoma questions. All questions sent to askanurse@melanoma.org are answered by Suzanne McGettigan, MSN, CRNP, ANP-BC, AOCN ® - an oncology nurse practitioner instructor at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania. In most cases, Suzanne responds to inquiries within 72 hours.

About Suzanne McGettigan, MSN, ANP-BC, AOCN ®
Suzanne McGettigan, MSN, CRNP, ANP-BC, AOCN ® is an Oncology Nurse Practitioner at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, where she works in collaborative practice with Lynn Schuchter, M.D. and Leslie Fecher, M.D., medical oncologists specializing in the care of patients with melanoma and breast cancer. She also is a lab instructor and lecturer in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing.
After graduating from Washington and Lee University with a bachelor of science in biology, Ms. McGettigan earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She holds certification as an advanced oncology nurse; she is also a certified registered nurse practitioner with a specialty in adult oncology and achieved board certification as an adult nurse practitioner.
Ms. McGettigan is an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and a board member of the Philadelphia Area chapter of ONS. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society for nurses.
