Talking to Your Doctor
You have the right to understand all of your treatment options. It is your responsibility to communicate your feelings, expectations, and questions about treatment to your doctor.
Research shows that cancer survivors of all educational levels and backgrounds can have a difficult time communicating with their health care team. You may leave an appointment and thing of additional questions, or feeling like your questions weren’t answered clearly. You may also feel rushed through your visits. Do not feel guilty if you have to ask the same question more than once, or if you need clarification. It is important to take control of your treatment.
