Research Award Programs

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF)

Research Grants Announcement - 2011 Funding

Applications Accepted: July 1 - August 31, 2010

As we enter our 14th year, the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is pleased to announce its continued Research Award Programs. We offer both Established Investigator and Career Development Awards.

  • The Established Investigator Award provides up to $100,000 per year for two years. Our first Established Investigator Award was granted for 2006 as the Diana Ashby Award.  The purpose of this grant is to encourage investigators to attempt high-risk, but potentially high-yield, melanoma research projects. For 2010, the foundation funded one second-year project and two first-year projects.
  • We continue to support Career Development Awards as a means to encourage junior investigators to enter the field of melanoma research. These grants provide up to $50,000 per year for two years.  For 2010, we funded three second-year projects and four first-year projects.

The MRF is a national non-profit health organization.  Our mission is to fund RESEARCH to find more effective treatments and a cure for melanoma, to EDUCATE clinicians, related healthcare providers, patients and families about melanoma prevention and treatments, and to ADVOCATE on behalf of  the melanoma patient and scientific community.

We hope that you will inform members of your institution about our Research Award Programs.  For further information on the application process and the eligibility criteria view our Web site.
