My mother was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma back in March 2009. It was in her brain, bones, lungs, kidneys; literally every organ by the time we found out. She endured several weeks of chemo and radiation but was overall unresponsive to the treatment. After a weeks' stay in the hospital she made the decision to be taken to her home on hospice. She lost her brief, but ferocious battle with cancer on June 8, 2009. She was in immense pain the last week of her life. We are devastated that she is gone but we're ready for her to be out of pain. It's crazy how the 3 months from the time we found out until the time she passed seems like a blink of an eye.
