Hi, I was just interested to see if anyone knew anything about the new AJCC? Particularly in terms of stage 3. I have read that there will soon be 4 classifications to stage 3 (a,b,c and a new d). Does anyone know anymore details about this? It's an interesting change. Many thanks all. Thinking of all of you in the battle and those supporting x

Have not heard of any staging changes. Not sure what would be included with another letter for stage 3, seems thorough enough as it is. Do you have a link where you read there will be a change?

Here's the only bit of info I could find.

theres a number of changes across the stages by the looks of it. Including extra sub stage for 3c and changes to stage 1 so that mitotic rate is no longer considered

It's not supposed to be released until late this year.  I've seen the designations so I'm sure you can probably just search for AJCC 2017 melanoma guidelines or some variation.
