Jamie Richardson

I am a melanoma survivor, 3 times.

Well, I don't know that I have a short story.  I was diagnosed with Clark Level IV melanoma when I was 14. After 5 surgeries and 13 lymph nodes, I made it through the first round. I was fortunate to survive. Since then I have had melanoma, stage 1, two other times, as well as basal cell carcinoma. I'm 32 and realizing that I need some support. My last melanoma was December 2014, so I am back to 3 month visits and removing more and more moles each time. I am afraid of my own skin and I don't wish that upon anyone. I've been told that getting melanoma multiple times is rare and I guess I am one of those rare cases. I have also been told that I am a "high risk" patient and that I will have to deal with this the rest of my life.
