Trinity Ballare

Stage IV at age 47, but staying strong and positive!

Pale is the new tan...an article my mom and I wrote in a Woman's magazine a few years back, when I was just Stage III, for melanoma awareness.

I was diagnosed in 2007, Stage III, had sentinal node (left groin) - positive but auxilliary nodes were negative. I underwent 9 months of Interferon and was NED (no evidence of disease) til my 5 year anniversary. Then it was discovered in my right lung in Dec of 2013. I had the entire lower lobe removed and 9 months later 3 brain mets were discovered. I have just undergone Gamma Knife surgery with some brain bleeding.

I remain positive and strong and will keep kicking this beast to the curb!

Wonder how you are doing Trinity?

I'm very sorry to hear of your situation. I was diagnosed in January 2015, 1 sln was positive but I chose not to undergo full axillary dissection. I did however chose to do interferon. It has been a challenge to live life how I want, well I really can't but I am 6  months into it now with few more to go. My last pet/ct showed a small nodule in left lung base so I have a 3 month follow up next week. Been a very long 3 months waiting to see what has become of the nodule. How did yours present? Were you doing frequent scans? I hope you are doing well.
