2017 Pediatric Melanoma Summit

September 8-10, 2017

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is excited to host the 2017 Pediatric Melanoma Summit for young melanoma patients and their families. The Summit will provide educational and support resources to this growing population. Attendance is FREE but registration is required by Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Registration for the event does NOT reserve your hotel room. Room arrangements must be made through the MRF's Program Coordinator, Brenda Busby, at or (202) 999-4377. Room reservations must be made by Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Who should attend:

The Pediatric Melanoma Summit is for pediatric melanoma patients and their families. We have 40 rooms reserved. Space is limited and will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend, it is very important that you inform us immediately so that we may release your room and allow another patient and their family to take your place.

Reserving your room:

The MRF will pay for one room and the taxes for each patient and their family at Great Wolf Lodge for the nights of Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9. Guest rooms sleep 6 and have two queen beds, one sleeper sofa and one bathroom. Guests will be asked to provide a credit card for incidentals but will not be charged for the stay at the hotel. Access to the water park is included with the room. ALL room arrangements must be made through the MRF's Program Coordinator, Brenda Busby, at or (202) 999-4377.

*The MRF is only responsible for booking ONE room per family. Any extra room reservations must be made directly with the Great Wolf Lodge and the discounted rate cannot be guarateed.

Arriving before/Staying after the event:

A discounted rate of $159.00 will be offered to you for the nights of Thursday, September 7 and Sunday, September 10 should you want to come early or stay late. ALL room arrangements must be made through the MRF's Program Coordinator, Brenda Busby, at or (202) 999-4377.

Financial Assistance:

Financial travel assistance is available for patients and their immediate family members. Assistance will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To learn more, please contact the MRF's Program Coordinator, Brenda Busby, at or (202) 999-4377.

Meals during the event:

The MRF will provide a welcome dinner on Friday evening, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. All meals and snacks outside of those provided will be on your own.

For young children:

The agenda will accomodate children from around the age of 3 and up. Children younger than 3 are also invited to attend but may need more parental supervision than the other children. We will try to secure a baby-sitting service but for liability reasons, are unable to ask MRF volunteers so serve as child care providers.

Travel Arrangements:

You are responsible for making your travel arrangements to and from Colorado Springs. The airport in Colorado Springs uses the airport code COS. The Great Wolf Lodge is located approximately 20 miles northwest of the Colorado Springs Airport.

Alternatively, the Denver International Airport is located approximately 70 miles north of the Great Wolf Lodge, Colorado. The Denver airport uses the airport code DEN.

**Flying into Denver may be less expensive for you and your family. Currently, rental cars at the Denver Airport for the weekend of the Summit are approximately $150 or less, so this may be a great way to travel.
