Each year, the MRF hosts a series of signature events designed to recognize heroes in the melanoma community, and to raise awareness and much needed funding for melanoma research, including:
With the support of Hillary Fogelson (three-time melanoma survivor and author of Pale Girl Speaks), many celebrities and more than 2,000 runners and walkers, this signature event has raised over a half million dollars for melanoma education and research in just two years.
Wings of Hope for Melanoma galas are the MRF’s premiere fundraising events. In 2012, galas were held in San Francisco, Denver, New York City and Washington, D.C, together raising over one million dollars for melanoma research. In 2013, we expanded to include Wings of Hope for Melanoma galas in Denver and Philadelphia.
Celebrity Golf Classic, Hosted by Kevin Nealon
After losing a dear friend to skin cancer, actor Kevin Nealon, of hit TV shows Saturday Night Live and Weeds, asked his celebrity friends to join our supporters for a round of golf to benefit the MRF. The event was so successful that it we’re bringing it back for another year to support research!
